the Women’s Adventure Media Mountain Biking Scholarship was conceived as an idea in the Summer of 2018 when I was on a bike tour from Seattle to San Francisco with the two women in each of these photos.
women often feel intimated by male-dominated sports, such as mountain biking. the reality is, even if it’s not always represented in media or our communities, tons of women mountain bike and totally crush at it! gender does not discriminate on the enjoyment of the sport, and this scholarship hopes to highlight that by encouraging more women to get in the saddle, build their self-confidence, and realize their potential..
